The Power of Champions 2 – Warrior Training Center
By James Lawrence

So you want to attend an exciting mixed martial arts event, but don't want to pay the UFC type of price for tickets? We have the solution for you. Check out the amateur fight nights at Warrior Training Center on 6670 South Tenaya Way in Las Vegas . Not only was I entertained by numerous fights, there were a total of twelve when I attended on March 21 st , but I met Forrest Griffin and Amir Sadollah , had some great barbeque from TC's World Famous Barbeque, got free drinks supplied by Xyience, saw hot ring girls up close, and had a chance to win six months of free training from Warrior, amongst other raffle prizes, all for just $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

The fight card , which was organized by Rico White of International Championship Fighting, was top notch from beginning to end. I was a little frustrated before the card started, as it began 30 minutes late, but I completely forgot that less than half way through the first fight. In fact the first fight wasn't even a fight at all. It was declared an exhibition between a 6 year old boy and an 8 year old girl. When the two children entered the octagon, one spectator sitting behind me commented on how adorable they both looked. The cuteness didn't last for long once the bell rang and the girl rushed out of her corner and body kicked her opponent. The boy answered with his own move, which made the man sitting next to me ask, “Did that little boy just throw a Superman punch ?” The crowd cheered wildly during the entire exhibition and it was then that I knew I was in for a great night.

Every fight that night was excellent, but in my opinion, the best fight of the night was between Kawika Lagasca, of Warrior Training Center, and Robin Hutchinson. The fight was fast paced and went to the ground almost immediately. In fact it was over in a little more than two minutes. After fighting for position on the ground, Lagasca locked in a rear naked choke and Hutchinson had no choice but to tap. Look out for Lagasca in the future. This 170 pounder just may have what it takes to go far in the fight game .

The next night of ICF fights will be on May 17, 2009 at 4:00 PM at the Sport Center of Las Vegas. ICF expects it to sell out quickly, as did the one that I attended. If you're looking for a great night of fights in a family atmosphere, this is the place for you. If you need even more incentive to come out, there will be MMA stars in attendance, as well as the entire Cage and Ring staff. (Yes, we will give autographs and take photos with you!) What more could you want? It will be an exciting night with spectacular entertainment. Make sure that you give it a shot and show up.
